Beginners Weaving Course April 2025

Spring Course: Sunday 27th – Friday 2nd May 2024
 
Four shaft handweaving course suitable for beginners. Tuition from Jaine at Skye Silks Handweaving Studio in Dunvegan. Max 4 students.
 
Tuition 10am-4pm Sunday-Friday with one free day in the week for sightseeing or extra studio time.
All materials provided, includes use of all necessary equipment.  Tea, coffee, cakes or cookies (just bring a packed lunch).

The course will cover all the basics to learn to weave on a 4 shaft table loom including choosing yarns, making the warp, dressing the loom (beaming on, threading the heddles, sleying the reed, tying on), basic weaves, understanding yarn counts, working out the sett,  weave diagrams and finishing techniques.
