Blue Ruffles Handwoven Silk Scarf

Made with the finest hand-dyed silk yarns, this handwoven Blue Ruffles scarf, with it's azure blue background, is woven with a hand-dyed azure weft further intensifying the colour. The contrasting “colour bars”, hand-painted with dyes in shimmery shades of lime magenta and violet, are incorporated using a supplementary warp technique allowing the colours to float on the surface.  These extra warp threads are tightly woven in with the background in places to enable the bars to be cut in places and create mini fringes. 

This piece, made from 100% silk at 128 ends (threads) per inch in the pattern section, is individually designed and has been exquisitely woven on a traditional 8 shaft floor loom, resulting in a soft, luxurious, sumptuously coloured silk textile. Every scarf is finished with hand hemstitching, a fringe and a “Jaine Mahon” label.
