Handwoven 'Gold Rainbow' Pixel Design Silk Stole

Made with the finest hand-dyed silk yarns, this scarf, with its shades of gold and ochre and rainbow of multi coloured squares, has a lively quality that is full of movement and is woven with a hand-dyed gold weft further intensifying the rich background colour. The contrasting rainbow of “pixel squares”, hand-painted with dyes in vivid shades of red, blue, green, gold, orange, yellow and pink are incorporated using a supplementary warp technique.
 
The weather changes quickly on the Isle of Skye and this stole is reminiscent of the evening sunshine following the many rainbows on the island.
 
This wider width piece can be worn as a scarf or opened out and shown off as a stole.
 
This piece, made from 100% silk, is individually designed and has been exquisitely woven at 40 ends (threads) per inch on a traditional 8 shaft floor loom, resulting in a soft, luxurious, sumptuously coloured silk textile. Every scarf is finished with hand hemstitching, a fringe and a “Jaine Mahon” label.
