Lime Pixels Silk Stole

Made with pure silk yarn, this handwoven Lime Stole has a hand-dyed warp in a 'pixels' design with little colourful squares floating on the cloth surface. In a fresh hand dyed lime warp and weft for the background with the pixels hand painted as mini additional warp threads and woven in the supplementary warp technique. This technique allows the many colours to pop against the background without the colours blending and muddying.

It is woven in a 2/2 twill which gives a soft drape.

This piece, made from 100% silk at 40 ends (threads) per inch, is individually designed and has been exquisitely woven on a traditional 8 shaft floor loom, resulting in a soft, luxurious, sumptuously coloured silk textile. Every scarf is finished with hand hemstitching, a fringe and a “Skye Silks” label. Handwoven by Catriona Archibald at Jaine Mahon.
