Russet Handwoven Silk Scarf

Made with the finest silk yarns, this handwoven Russet scarf has a hand painted warp. In shades of red, maroon, orange, gold, plum and chestnut, the warp is crossed with a plum coloured hand-dyed silk weft. The painted warp technique allows a myriad of colours to be used which blends one colour into the next giving an unrepeatable complexity of tones.

This piece, made from 100% silk at 35 ends (threads) per inch, is individually designed and has been exquisitely woven on a traditional 8 shaft floor loom, resulting in a soft, luxurious, sumptuously coloured silk textile. Every scarf is finished with hand hemstitching, a fringe and a “Skye Silks” label. Handwoven by Catriona Archibald.
